The need for group business or organization profiles Small businesses in towns, cities and rural areas face increased competition from chain stores and their multi-million-dollar marketing budgets. Small organizations are under pressure to maintain or expand services with the same or less funding. |
Making people feel good
I'm in the making people feel
good business. What I do makes
the person buying my baskets
feel good and the person
receiving them feel good.
One of our unique features is that
you can customize things. I have
a lot of local product and it's just
fun to be in my store. It's an
experience.
Sweet baskets
There was a young man who was in the store for an hour and a half picking out everything he wanted in a basket. I didn't pry but I think it was a case of him and his girlfriend breaking up and he wanted to get back together with her. I never did hear the outcome. But I know she was pretty surprised to get the basket, because I delivered it. I thought his gift to her was particularly sweet.
The future

Advantages of small businesses can include an individual approach to customers, specialized products and services, better quality and keeping money in local communities. Yet customers may not know of these benefits. Small organizations are vital to communities. Yet potential participants and the public may not know of the organization's value. Group profiles encourage businesses to market together and organizations to work together, helping themselves and each other.
One of the most effective ways of making potential customers more aware of the benefits of a small business or organization is to tell its story (see sample excerpts). Steve has written stories for Atlantic Progress, Atlantic Insight, Atlantic Co-operator and Halifax Chronicle-Herald. To learn more about having your own profile done, contact us.
